Fakes: Have Replicas Replaced Art? →
artsjournal.com
This isn’t a short read but fantastic way to get you thinking about several art topics. What I have seemed to start thinking about is: Is art a man’s way of becoming a immortal? Is so then it’s another failed attempt. Art is not immortal.
“…whenever I see you, I remember dead artists who died very young…I wonder why…”
—My photography professor who remains a great friend.
“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince; potentate, state or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen; that I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States of American against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear arms on behalf of the United States when required by law, that I will perform work of national importance under civilian direction when required by the law; and that I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation or purpose evasion: So help me God.”
—Oath of Allegiance. As many know this is the oath I took when I was sworn in to become a citizen of the United States of America. I think that a lot of people born here do not get to read it so I’m putting it out here for you to examine to your heart’s content.
